We, at Great pacific Travels, are determined to ensure the accuracy, confidentiality and security of the personal data the company processes on you. We respect your privacy and make sure that we are committed to protecting your data.

This data protection policy applies to all the personal data of Great Pacific Travel’s customer and this would also inform you as to how we look after and protect your personal data when you visit our website or either you provide personal data to us via any means in order to avail travel packages from us. Great Pacific is anupcoming travel agency group. We need to collect, use and disclose personal information in order to perform our business functions and activities, including making and managing travel bookings on behalf of our customers. We are firmly committed to protecting the privacy and confidentiality of personal information and to maintaining various physical, electronic and procedural safeguards to protect personal information in our care.

For the purposes of the General Data Protection Regulation 2018 (GDPR) we are the data controller. This policy sets out the basis on which any personal data we collect from you, or that you provide to us, will be processed by us. In our website, we do not collect data in relation to children and it is not intended for children. DATA COLLECTED ABOUT YOU

In connection with our communication and collaboration with you, we may collect personal data about you. Different personal data may be collected on different parties and the processing and collection of personal data may depend on your relationship with us.
Our customers are mainly individuals, but they may also be legal persons. When customers are a legal person they have representatives and employees whose personal data we may process. The personal data is primarily contact information, e.g., name, email address, job title and phone number. 

Regarding our communication with you we may need to process a variety of personal data, e.g.:

  • travel period;
  • information on the purpose of the trip and special wishes for the trip;
  • information regarding the combination of the travel group; 
  • health and religion information;
  • country of residence;
  • IP number, when needed, your login data, browser type and version, Time zone setting and location, operating system
  • billing information.
  • Means and methods of payment, such as your bank account and payment card details  

In addition to the aforementioned information, Great Pacific Travels may collect and process other data that you provide to the company, e.g., photographs, as well as data that is essential for the company’s business. 

In general, Great Pacific Travels obtains the personal data directly from you. If data is obtained from a third party the company will endeavour to inform you. 

How do we collect personal information?
We will only collect personal information in compliance with your local data protection laws. We usually collect your personal information from the information you submit during the course of your relationship with us. We will collect this information directly from you unless it is unreasonable or impracticable to do so.
Generally, this collection will occur:

  • when you deal with us either in person, by telephone, letter, email;
  • when you visit any of our websites; or
  • when you connect with us via social media.

We may collect personal information about you:

  • when you purchase or make inquiries about travel arrangements or other products and services;
  • when you enter competitions or register for promotions;
  • when you subscribe to receive marketing from us (e.g. e-newsletters);
  • when you request brochures or other information from us; or
  • when you provide information, or use our services, on social media.

Unless you choose to do so under a pseudonym or anonymously, we may also collect your personal information (other than sensitive information) when you complete surveys or provide us with feedback. 
In some circumstances, it may be necessary for us to collect personal information about you from a third party. This includes where a person makes a travel booking on your behalf which includes travel arrangements to be used by you (e.g. a family or group booking or a travel booking made for you by your employer). Where this occurs, we will rely on the authority of the person making the travel booking to act on behalf of any other traveller on the booking.
Where you make a travel booking on behalf of another person (e.g. a family or group booking or a travel booking made for an employee), you agree you have obtained the consent of the other person for Great Pacific to collect, use and disclose the other person's personal information in accordance with this Notice and that you have otherwise made the other person aware of this Notice. 
You should let us know immediately if you become aware that your personal information has been provided to us by another person without your consent or if you did not obtain consent before providing another person's personal information to us.
We make every effort to maintain the accuracy and completeness of your personal information which we store and to ensure all of your personal information is up to date. However, you can assist us with this considerably by promptly contacting us if there are any changes to your personal information or if you become aware that we have inaccurate personal information relating to you. We will not be responsible for any losses arising from any inaccurate, inauthentic, deficient or incomplete personal information that you, or a person acting on your behalf, provide to us.
How do we use personal information?
We will only use your personal data when the law allows us to. Most commonly, we will use your personal data in the following circumstances:

  • Where we need to perform the contract we are about to enter into or have entered into with you.
  • Where it is necessary for our legitimate interests (or those of a third party) and your interests and fundamental rights do not override those interests.

We may use your Identity, Contact, Technical, Usage and Profile Data to form a view on what we think you may want or need, or what may be of interest to you. This is how we decide which products, services and offers may be relevant for you (we call this marketing). 
You will receive email and text marketing communications from us if you have requested information from us or purchased services from us and, in each case, you have not opted out of receiving that marketing.
We will also send you brochures and other marketing communications through the post, relying on our legitimate interest as a business to develop our products/services and grow our business, to do so. You can opt-out of receiving this postal marketing at any time by contacting us.

Third-party marketing
We will get your express opt-in consent before we share your personal data with any company outside the Great Pacific Travels group of companies for marketing purposes. 

Opting out
You can ask us or third parties to stop sending you marketing messages at any time by following the opt-out links on any marketing message sent to you or by contacting us at any time.

Where you opt out of receiving these marketing messages, this will not apply to personal data that you have provided to us as a result of a purchase of travel services or other such transactions.

Change of purpose
We will only use your personal data for the purposes for which we collected it unless we reasonably consider that we need to use it for another reason and that reason is compatible with the original purpose. If you wish to get an explanation as to how the processing for the new purpose is compatible with the original purpose, please get in touch with us.
If we need to use your personal data for an unrelated purpose, we will notify you and we will explain the legal basis which allows us to do so.
Please note that we may process your personal data without your knowledge or consent, in compliance with the above rules, where this is required or permitted by law.

If you fail to provide personal data

Where we need to collect personal data by law or under the terms of a contract we have with you and you fail to provide that data when requested, we may not be able to perform the contract we have or are trying to enter into with you. 

In other words, where we require details from you in order to provide you with your chosen travel arrangements, if you do not provide us with the necessary details then we will not be able to provide the services you have booked or are attempting to book.  

In this case, depending upon when you fail to provide the necessary data, we may either not be able to process your booking or we may have to cancel your booking, in which case we will treat this as a ‘cancellation by you’ in accordance with the relevant Booking Terms & Conditions. We will notify you if we are unable to process a booking or are required to cancel a booking for this reason.

 

DATA SECURITY

We have put in place appropriate security measures to prevent your personal data from being accidentally lost, used or accessed in an unauthorised way, altered or disclosed. In addition, we limit access to your personal data to those employees, agents, contractors and other third parties who have a business need to know. They will only process your personal data on our instructions and they are subject to a duty of confidentiality. 
We have put in place procedures to deal with any suspected personal data breach and will notify you and any applicable regulator of a breach where we are legally required to do so.

How long will we use your personal data?

Great Pacific Travels will only retain your personal data for as long as necessary to fulfill the purposes we collected it for, including for the purposes of satisfying any legal, accounting, or reporting requirements.
To determine the appropriate retention period for personal data, we consider the amount, nature, and sensitivity of the personal data, the potential risk of harm from unauthorised use or disclosure of your personal data, the purposes for which we process your personal data and whether we can achieve those purposes through other means, and the applicable legal requirements.
By law, we have to keep basic information about our customers (including Contact, Identity, Financial and Transaction Data) for seven years after they cease being customers for legal and tax purposes.
In some circumstances, you can ask us to delete your data.
In some circumstances, we may anonymise your personal data (so that it can no longer be associated with you) for research or statistical purposes in which case we may use this information indefinitely without further notice to you.

External Third Parties

    • Suppliers of travel services, such as airlines, hotels and transport providers acting as processors based within and outside the EEA who provide the travel services that make up any booking of travel services that you make with us. 
    • Service providers acting as processors based within and outside the EEA who provide IT, call center and system administration services.
    • Professional advisers acting as processors or joint controllers including lawyers, bankers, auditors and insurers based in the United Kingdom who provide consultancy, banking, legal, insurance and accounting services.
    • HM Revenue & Customs, regulators and other authorities acting as processors or joint controllers based in the United Kingdom who require reporting of processing activities in certain circumstances.

 

YOUR RIGHTS REGARDING COMPANY’S PROCESSING

You are entitled to request access to the personal data we process on you and information on the processing. You may also be entitled to a copy of the personal data undergoing processing.
Under certain circumstances, you may have the right to request that we erase personal data concerning you without undue delay. You may also have the right to obtain from us the restriction of processing, where certain requirements are fulfilled. You are also entitled to request rectification of inaccurate data on you. It is therefore important that if your personal data happens to change during the course of your relationship with Great Pacific Travels, that you keep us informed of such changes
You may furthermore be entitled to a copy of the personal data that you have provided to us in electronic form, or request that we transmit them directly to a third party,  only if it is technically feasible to do so.

When we process your personal data based on legitimate interests you are at any time authorised to object to the processing.

The aforementioned rights are however not without limitation. Laws and regulations may authorise or oblige the company to deny your request. However, your right to object the processing of your personal data for direct marketing purposes is unconditional.
